what is a doula? is it like a midwife? a doula is not the same role as a midwife. a doula is a non-medical professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support during fertility, pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. a midwife provides medical care and manages childbirth.

do I need a doula if I have a midwife or doctor? many people find that a doula complements medical care by providing additional support and advocacy.
can you help with my birth plan? yes! i'll assist in creating a birth plan that reflects your preferences and values.
what if my labor doesn’t go as planned? i'm trained to provide support regardless of how your labor unfolds, helping you adapt to changes.
do you provide services for planned cesarean sections? yes, i provide support before, during, and after a cesarean, helping to navigate the experience.

what if my partner or support person is present? i'll work alongside your partner to enhance support for you during labor.
what foods do you recommend for postpartum recovery? water, animal protein, plant protein, starchy carbs, fruits, bone broths, soups, easily digestible foods basically.
can I have a doula for a home birth? yes, many doulas are experienced with home births and can provide valuable support in that setting. i support births from home to the hospital (medical professional must be present)!
what happens if you’re unavailable when I go into labor? many doulas work in teams or have backup arrangements to ensure support.
